ImageAligner makes adding custom printed text to your CDs quick and easy. With this optional DiscPrint feature installed on your ImageMaker CD-R production system, you can print your own custom text onto pre-printed CDs saving the time and expense of sending them out for printing. Order a large run of CDs silk-screened with your corporate logo in full color, a product photo, or other text and images, and let ImageAligner imprint the customized text for each disc. The result: professional-looking individualized CDs every time.

How It Works
To print on a pre-printed CD, you first train ImageAligner to recognize the image of that disc. A camera mounted over the printer takes a "snapshot" of the disk to be imprinted with text. The image appears onscreen along with a control for you to rotate the image to its proper orientation. Save the results of this training, and you're ready to create the text layout to go with the pre-printed discs. You can use the trained pre-printed graphic with other DiscPrint layouts to imprint different text on the same pre-printed discs.

Quick and Accurate
After training, printing with ImageAligner proceeds normally at regular speed. Pattern-matching routines compare each "snapshot" to the first disc you trained, then it rotates the print image to align with the existing graphics on each disc before sending to the printer. The great advantage of ImageAligner is that there are no moving parts, which means less margin for printing error. Rotation alignment is accurate to ± 1º --and the process only takes a few seconds extra.

What is a Pre-Printed Disc?
Pre-printed graphics may include text, photos or illustrations that are silk-screened (or printed by any other method) onto a CD. A "blank disc" has these pre-printed graphics on it, and is ready to be imprinted with custom text by ImageMaker.

For Best Printing Results
We recommend designing your pre-printed silk-screened image with the requirements of ImageAligner in mind. Because areas of silk-screened ink can interfere with text imprinted near them, any pre-printed graphics elements on the disc should be at least 3mm (about 1/8") away from any areas to be imprinted. Simply put: Keep your graphics out of the way of the text area.

Warranty, Service, and Installation
